As part of Foundations of HIM course, I learned about 'AHIMA code of Ethics'. Security & privacy of the patient's health information is very essential in the healthcare system.I am very well aware of professions' mission values & ethical principles.
I can relate the importance of privacy with my current work at school where I need to keep child's information confidential. I meet so many diverse kids with different kind of issues including health and family issues but I never discuss about those issues outside or even with my family members. I know first hand about the importance to create the trust at workplace.
In future also, I will ensure that I shall always be compliant with the AHIMA code of ethics. I will make sure that I follow the code of ethics, rules, & policies as well as I will not hesitate to report any incidents to my authority where I find that my colleagues or co-workers violating the rules/policies.
