Managing health-related data Security, Privacy and confidentiality is one of highest priority for all the providers. I learned that how HIPAA rules and regulations helps organizations to prevent physical theft and loss of devices that contain patient information. As part of Foundations of HIM course, I learned the consequences of violating the HIPAA regulations and how it impacts organizations revenue.

As part of Foundation of HIM project, we discussed about the importance of ethics in healthcare. I learnt about the importance of patient's health information.In future when I start working as coder and if choose remote work environment , it is important to pick a safe and separate work-room and whenever I move away from my workstation I need to turn-off my computer so nobody can take a look at patient's secured informations. I also learned that, it is very important to disclose only required information which is directly relevant or necessary to achieve the the purpose of disclosure.
